Book Review: Attack of Shadows

kill-team-site-header-v1

Hey Space Cadets, here is the next installment in my series of book reviews.  As I’ve mentioned earlier, I’m a member of the TRMN.  It’s a fan club for the Honor Harrington Universe by David Weber, and they do contests for their members all the time.  The last reading contest recently ended, and it was so fun that there is another one. Like before, we get points for page reads.  I’m thrilled that it prompted me to continue reading, as I’ve let writing get in the way of reading!  In addition to reading more in the last few months, this month I’ve been working on the editorial revisions for my next book.

Hey Space Cadets, how is everyone doing today?  I’m good and wanted to bring you an update!  I’m slogging through the editing of the super-duper secret project I finished in December and have added about 10k words to the length. It’s sitting at about 60k now and will probably end around 65k to 70k when I’m done. I’m not sure when the publisher will make an announcement, but I’ll keep you posted the moment I can!  I’m also fighting through my wife’s health issues, taking her to her doctors and the like. It’s a time suck because she can’t drive, and we don’t live in a mass transit region.  We’ll figure out our new rhythm eventually, and my production speed will improve. But enough depressing crap, let’s talk about some fun stuff! I recently started a podcast with my friend Chris Winder all about the worlds of written science fiction!  Check it out, you might enjoy it!

Book Review: Starship Troopers

Hey Space Cadets, here is the next installment in my series of book reviews. As I write this, I’m trying not to go crazy from the emotional roller coaster that ending my series has become. It’s a bittersweet day, as I close the chapter on one series and move on to the next. Lance Scipio and I have had a good run, but now I’ve got to let him go. It’s harder than I thought, we’ve spent every waking moment together for the last two years.  But at least I have new projects to distract me! In addition to finishing the Sleeping Legion, I had an anthology that I’m in published a month ago.  I hope everyone enjoys it too, which you can still buy for 99c here! Finally, I recently hit “the end” on my super-duper secret project, sent it off to the editor, and now it’s back!  So yesterday I began the editing process, which I hope to finish this month. Ideally it’ll be off with the publisher before the month is over. I’ll let you know more when I can, but that’s all I can say for now. I’ll be working on my next project, but more about that in the days to come.

Now here’s a cool film!

Book Review: Tin Man

Hey Space Cadets, here is the next installment in my book review series. This one is a little different, as it’s a review of a short story that in the Galaxy’s Edge Universe I love. Reading this was my reward to myself for finishing the Super-Duper-Secret novel I was writing this month. Soon I’ll post the top books on my TBR list, in case you want to read along and be able to comment on my review of those books! I’ve also finished Starship Troopers, and I’ll be posting that soon as well!  I’ll plan on being more active on my blog in the new year with some exciting news, so stay tuned. Hey Space Cadets, I’m taking a quick break from loading the minivan to wish you all a Merry Christmas!  I hope your holiday season brings you nothing but joy and fond memories.  I’ll be radio silent until after this blog post, so I’ll wish you all the best, as you celebrate with your loved ones.  You’re all my favorite readers, and my holiday wishes are said with the utmost sincerity.  I’ve been hired to help NORAD track Santa’s sleigh, but then I’ve got two book reviews waiting in the wings next week!  Until then, I wish you all a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukah, or pleasant Yule.

Book 4 Updates

Hello Space Cadets! I just wanted to give you an update on where we are in the process for Book 4. First, the title has been decided!!  We chose Insurgency: Spartika for the official name, so I can stop calling it “Book 4!”  And to make things better, it looks like the final book in The Sleeping Legion will be coming out this month! But what sort of reveal would this be if I didn’t give you peek at the new cover? Continue reading “Book 4 Updates”
