Book Review: Fist of God

Terry Mixon

Hey Space Cadets, this is the next installment of book reviews. I’ve read this book several times, but I decided to re-read it and write a review of the first book in a series that I love without going further. However, I just couldn’t resist re-reading the rest of the series. Thus, I am now doing a review of the first omnibus, Empire of Bones Saga Omnibus Volume 1. I’ve listened to the audiobook as well as Continue reading “Book Review: Fist of God”

Book Review: The Traveler

Hey Space Cadets, here is the next installment in my series of book reviews. This time I’m reviewing some short stories. Some of these will be outside of my normal reading genres, as I seek to broaden my horizons. However, I will also review stories solidly in my wheelhouse, never fear! And I won’t rate those I don’t like below a 3 Grenade because it isn’t the authors’ fault that someone other than their target demographic read the work in question. I’ve nothing special to report, so let’s get right to it! Continue reading “Book Review: The Traveler”

SciFy Shenanigans: TW Iain

Hey Space Cadets, how’s everyone doing today? I’m doing fantastic, with some exciting news to come. Since I’ve recently posted an update on my last blog, let’s get right to the point of my latest blog posting!  Yes, I’ve gotten bit by the interview bug! I host the Warrior Weekend Series, whenever I find a veteran to interview and the ‘SciFy Shenanigans’ interviews that morphed into a podcast. I’ll send out the interview form to any author that fits those niche categories. If you know anyone you want Continue reading “SciFy Shenanigans: TW Iain”

Book Review: Infliction (Mech Wars Book 4)

Hey Space Cadets, how’re you all doing?  I hope you’ve sufficiently recovered from your cabin fever and winter doldrums?  Summer seems to finally be in the air, and in the south of the US of A that means asphyxiation by pollen! I managed to survive the dreaded yellow death and lived to tell about it.  I’ve got my new glasses and can finally read again, though I fought off the doctor’s recommendation of bifocals.  Now the intemperate weather has again made sane people hide from the seasons I’m back to the writing.  Continue reading “Book Review: Infliction (Mech Wars Book 4)”

Book Review: Stigers Tigers (Chronicles of an Imperial Legionary Officer Book 1)

Hey Space Cadets, here is the next installment in my series of book reviews. I’m just coming out of a reading slump. Lately, life has been chaotic, but now I’m back in the saddle and wanted to share what I just read! Audiobooks have become my friend as I take advantage of the gorgeous summer weather. I don’t normally review books outside of the science fiction genre, though I read plenty of them as well, this one was a military fantasy novel, so I felt like it fit with my brand. And let’s be real, I love nerding out over books! Plus, I know that the author has a new science fiction story coming out, so I wanted to see what Marc was working with! Continue reading “Book Review: Stigers Tigers (Chronicles of an Imperial Legionary Officer Book 1)”

SciFy Shenanigans: Christopher G. Nuttall

Hey Space Cadets, how’s everyone doing today?  I’m doing fantastic, writing and preparing for the holidays.  Yeah, that pesky little twerp in a diaper is floating around spreading love and crap, so us menfolk need to gird our loins, harden our hearts and prepare for the end times!  Okay, jokes aside I can’t cheat this year.  My go to gift, chocolate, is a no go with my wife’s new dietary restrictions so I have to actually think about a gift for her.  And do it on a budget, since Amazon forgot to back my truck full of  money up to my front door.  All jokes aside, life is good and I can’t wait to finish this novel and write the next dozen.  Until then, let’s talk to my special guest. Continue reading “SciFy Shenanigans: Christopher G. Nuttall”

Book Review: Meltdown (Mech Wars Book 3)

Hey Space Cadets, how’re you all doing?  I hope you’ve sufficiently recovered from your turkey comma, and are back at it?  Survived the dreaded Black Friday, without loss of life or limb?  I ate the turkey, avoided the shopping, and visited with my in-laws.  Now that the holidays are over, I’m back to the writing.  I should have an announcement on the release of my fourth and final novel in The Sleeping Legion Series soon.  I’m working on that new, super-duper secret project and having a blast.  The instant I can share more, I will!  I’ve got a short story in The The Expanding Universe 3 Anthology that’s coming out on the 15th of December. If you want tons of fun, for the low price of 99c, then pre-order it!  It’s a collection of some pretty amazing stories. Continue reading “Book Review: Meltdown (Mech Wars Book 3)”

Book Review: Dynamo (Mech Wars Book 2)

Hey Space Cadets, here is the next installment in my series of book reviews. As I’ve mentioned earlier, I’m a member of the TRMN. It’s a fan club for the Honor Harrington Universe by David Weber, and they do contests for their members all the time. There is a reading contest going on recently, and we get points for page reads. I’m thrilled that it prompted me to read more, as I’ve let writing get in the way of reading!  In addition to reading more this month, I’m working on the editorial revisions for book four of The Sleeping Legion Series.  Finally, if you haven’t read it, Operation Breakout is live! Continue reading “Book Review: Dynamo (Mech Wars Book 2)”
