GrassHey Space Cadets, I hope life finds you well!  I am doing good, preparing for my wife’s surgery next month and trying to write every day.  The good news, the surgeon thinks she will recover quickly and be back to where she was before the car accident last year!  Then it’s back to the races. I still have my Order of the Centurion book in the Galaxy’s Edge Universe tentatively scheduled for late fall and I submitted a short story in the next Four Horsemen Universe anthology in September. I should find out if it was accepted soon, and I’ll let you know! I’ll have additional writing announcements soon, as a certain project is nearing a date with an editing guru! Continue reading

SciFy Shenanigans: Christopher G. Nuttall

Hey Space Cadets, how’s everyone doing today?  I’m doing fantastic, writing and preparing for the holidays.  Yeah, that pesky little twerp in a diaper is floating around spreading love and crap, so us menfolk need to gird our loins, harden our hearts and prepare for the end times!  Okay, jokes aside I can’t cheat this year.  My go to gift, chocolate, is a no go with my wife’s new dietary restrictions so I have to actually think about a gift for her.  And do it on a budget, since Amazon forgot to back my truck full of  money up to my front door.  All jokes aside, life is good and I can’t wait to finish this novel and write the next dozen.  Until then, let’s talk to my special guest. Movie Review: HALO 4: Forward Unto Dawn

Hey Space Cadets, here is the first installment in a new series of science fiction movie reviews. Being snowed in early January gave me time to watch new movies, eat some popcorn and just enjoy my family. I’m still writing, and I’ll have more news on that soon. I’ve started recording my new Sci-Fi Shenanigans Podcast with my friend Chris Winder, and episode two recently went live. In addition to more family time, I’ve fought off the cabin fever by writing more and shoveled snow.  In case you missed it, The Sleeping Legion Series has wrapped up and you can buy it on Amazon. The final audio book for Insurgency: Spartika is in the works, and then you can enjoy every one of my stories in audio book, paperback, or eBook!

Book 4 Updates

Hello Space Cadets! I just wanted to give you an update on where we are in the process for Book 4. First, the title has been decided!!  We chose Insurgency: Spartika for the official name, so I can stop calling it “Book 4!”  And to make things better, it looks like the final book in The Sleeping Legion will be coming out this month! But what sort of reveal would this be if I didn’t give you peek at the new cover? Continue reading

Tranquility 4JR HandleyHey Space Cadets, how’re ya’ll doing on this fine day?  I’m doing great, working hard on edits for a short story and book four!  I’m excited to see how the story ends before moving on to the next project. During this time, when I don’t have deadlines beating me about the head and shoulders, I took some family time.  Took my bride on the date to Red Lobster, killed my diet and one meal, and generally have been having a blast! Okay, I know that some people might suggest that it’s a little low rent, but chain restaurants are budget friendly. Maybe if the next book sells like hotcakes, I’ll try a “real” seafood place.  I’m told that I’m a bad representation of the Tidewater Region of Virginia because I’ve never had lobster.  Eventually, I will fix this, but only after we keep the power on! Marine Monday: Spartika

Hey Space Cadets, how are you this fine Monday?  I’m doing better, slowly getting my word counts back to where they were before I took a month off to take care of my wife after her car accident.  Thank you to every one of you kind souls who asked after her health, I’m pleased to say the physical therapy is working and she is doing better.  She still has some residuals from the concussion, but the doctors are happy with how she is progressing.  Our parents and I joined in to insist that she take the summer off of college, so hopefully we can ensure a full recovery.  Now that things are back on track, I’ll be setting my target goal for when book four and five will be done.  I’ve charted out my path going forward, and I know where the series will end which is huge for me!  I can’t wait to share that with you, bringing you along for the ride.

Now, what comes next for me?  Well, I’ve planned a series I’ll be writing after I finish the Sleeping Legion Series, and a contract for it has been signed with a small press.  I can’t tell you any more right now, but there will continue to be more shenanigans escaping my piehole and infesting your brain buckets!

Okay, so on to our regularly scheduled Marine Monday! Today I was leaked, by our friendly neighborhood LegionLeak source, the official bio of Marine Spartika.  If that name sounds familiar, it’s because she once strode the pages of the main Human Legion Series.  It’s been hard for her, she’s loved and lost and been enslaved.  Her friends have died in front of her, and she survived torture, but through charisma and the sheer force of her will she endures and overcomes.  If you’re intrigued, then on to the important parts!  Remember, destroy this message after reading it so the anonymous source can live long enough to continue feeding us excellent intelligence!  Without further ado, here is the leaked document!

Hopefully you enjoyed this sneak peek into our favorite Marines official record.  If you did, stay tuned for next week as we anxiously wait for the latest documents smuggled our way!

Until next time, stay frosty and don’t forget to keep your powder dry!
